Winter Storm Blair: Restoration Update

Southern Indiana Power is working diligently to restore power after significant damage caused by Winter Storm Blair. As of now, approximately 3,000 members are without power, spread across 68 separate outages.

The Challenge at Hand

The primary issue we face is damage caused by ice-laden trees falling onto power lines, creating widespread outages. These types of repairs are complex and require substantial time to ensure safe and effective restoration.

Our linemen began responding to outages yesterday evening around 5:00 PM and have been working tirelessly through the night and into today. We are committed to restoring power as quickly and safely as possible.

Restoration Process

Restoration efforts will take several days. To better understand how outages are prioritized and restored, please review the outage prioritization graph available on our website.

What You Should Do

  1. Report Outages as Usual: Continue to notify us of outages using the normal reporting process.
  2. Consider Alternative Plans: If you and your family need accommodations during this extended restoration period, we strongly encourage you to make necessary arrangements.
  3. Stay Informed: Follow updates on our website and social media channels for the latest information.

Additional Crews on the Way

To expedite restoration, Southern Indiana Power has called in additional crews from across the state. Each assisting crew will work alongside a Southern Indiana Power representative to ensure smooth coordination and efficient repairs.

A Message of Gratitude

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and support during this challenging time. Please keep our crews in your thoughts and prayers as they continue their tireless efforts to restore power to our members.

Thank you for trusting us to serve you, and stay safe during this winter storm.
